If only the movie had been as good as the trailer. Or just an ounce of it. It can be labelled as the tragedy of 2017 as this is by far the worst movie this year has come up with.
Sarkar(Subhash Nagare) looks weak, indecisive, meek and an outright shadow of himself. The film opens with a public speech by Subhash Nagare which is so long and excruciatingly poorly written that you start wondering about your decision within minutes of the opening of the film. Amitabh Bachchan seems to be doing his own parody with his gurgling voice and body language. Overall his presence in the movie stops you from abandoning the movie altogether.
Ronit Roy is a trusted lieutenant of Sarkar. He stands behind him, he stands beside him, he stands across him, he stands in front of him, he eats with him. That is the heat map of Ronit Roy. Or basically everything that he does. The only character that can be cherished(that too momentarily until dialogues ruin his performance) is of Govind Deshpande played by Manoj Bajpayee.
Apart from Shivaji played by Amit Sadh, the film doesn't let any character develop.
Jackie shroff lives in Dubai and only comes on screen to enunciate lacklustre dialogues and cheap one-liners. Ramu's obsession with trivial shots irritates the hell out of you. The overhead shot of Mumbai Metro and the prolonged shots of dolphins make you wonder whether Ramu is aware that he is making a movie.
The background score impresses initially but its overuse starts irritating and pushes you to a point where you just stop caring, Yami Gautam in a highly inconsequential role doesn't impress at all. We don't know why she was in the movie.
This movie is a downright disaster. It tells you something really sad about Ramu that not only his best but also his average work is behind him.
P.S. Yes Rohini Hattangadi is also there in the movie.
