From Gun Wielding Nazis to the fierce Amazon warriors, this film is about a young princess who is adamant on defeating Ares, the son of Zeus and subsequently free the people by ending the great war that has corrupted their minds. The great warlord Ares is hellbent on destroying his father's beautiful creation that is mankind.
The film is a beauty among all the beasts (terrible, terrible beasts) that are out there in the shape of Avengers and other 'superhero' genre movies. It breaks all the stereotypes that hang above a woman's head everytime she decides to do something on her own. She is a fighter, she is a leader and most importantly she does not need permission from anyone to do what she finds important.
Chris Pine plays the role of an American Spy who loses his way while dodging the Nazi Trail and finds himself in this paradise of an island hidden from the rest of the world. What transpires out of this event is the unfolding of the destiny of Princess Diana who goes on to become Diana Prince for the rest of the world.
Hollywood's one of the most underrated Actors Chris Pine looks headed toward glory as he again proves that no matter what happens his choice of movies gets better with each passing performance. He enjoys a big and impactful role that leaves us nearly in tears in the end.
Other characters also impress as the writing is the strong part of the movie. Screen Writer Allan Heinberg weaves a really interesting narrative and tells a tale which would be envied by many.
With a performance so strong and impressive Gal Gadot makes an impressive case for the equality for women in Hollywood. The movie has already broken all the records with over 200 million dollars opening.
Let us wait and see if it can steer clear the wrecked ship of superhero movies from falling into the abyss and alter the course of History. A movie so well made, with brilliant performances deserves all the love we have in our heart.
